1. Information We Collect
Shakuhachi SRS stores the music library data you create in the app, including piece titles, labels, categories, difficulty level, notes, practice history, YouTube links, and uploaded sheet music files.
If you use Cloud Sync, the app may collect and store:
- your Sync Account email address;
- your Firebase user identifier;
- your library backup, including pieces, labels, notes, practice history, YouTube links, and sheet music files;
- subscription entitlement information, such as product ID, subscription status, expiration date, Apple transaction ID, or hashed Google Play purchase token.
Payment information is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play. Shakuhachi SRS does not collect or store your payment card details.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- save and display your shakuhachi practice library;
- back up and restore your library across supported devices;
- verify whether your Cloud Sync subscription is active;
- provide app functionality and basic support.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or tracking.
3. Cloud Sync
Cloud Sync is optional and requires a Sync Account and an active subscription. If enabled, your library backup is stored using Firebase services so it can be restored on supported devices.
Your backup may include uploaded sheet music files and other content you add to the app. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload and store any sheet music or other content you add.
4. Third-Party Services
Shakuhachi SRS uses third-party services to provide core functionality:
- Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions for account management, subscription entitlement verification, and cloud backup;
- Apple App Store and Google Play for subscription purchases and subscription status;
- YouTube embedded player for displaying YouTube videos when you add a YouTube link to a piece.
These services may process data according to their own privacy policies.
5. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
Data may be processed by service providers used to operate the app, including Firebase, Apple, Google Play, and YouTube, only as needed to provide the app's functionality.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Data stored locally remains on your device unless you delete it or uninstall the app.
Cloud Sync data remains stored while your Sync Account exists or until you request deletion. You may request deletion of your Sync Account and cloud backup data by contacting us at:

We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including authentication and access controls for cloud backups. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
8. Children's Privacy
Shakuhachi SRS is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, depending on the infrastructure used by Firebase, Apple, Google, and other service providers.
